Improved Alerts Setup and Management
Jabbakam has now revised the functionality for how camera owners set up contacts for their camera alerts.
The main changes are as follows:
1. Camera owners can set up contacts to receive alerts for both Camera Activity and Camera Monitoring – this is done within Cameras under the settings for each camera.
2. All recipients of alerts have full control over when they receive their alerts via the new Manage your Alerts page under their Account.
The new system gives more options to camera owners for how alerts are sent and to whom. It also improves security and mimimalises the risk of spam. Every new contact will now be asked to verify their number for receiving alerts on their phone before they can begin receiving alerts.
For full information on how the new system works please refer to the new support articles within the Support section of the Jabbakam website:

Rollout of New Alerts Functionality
We are rolling out our new improved alert system over the next 12 hours.
There may be a very short period of time when our website is unavailable, and camera event alerts are temporarily delayed.
There will be no interruption to the capture of camera video footage during this transition.
We will keep you informed on both our news blog (which you are currently reading) and on Twitter @JabbakamStatus

Website and Monitoring Issues
Earlier today we experienced a high level of network lag to both our web servers and camera monitoring servers. After some investigation the cause turned out to be due to network connection in our upstream provider.
This resulted in making it difficult to access the website during this period, but more importantly, it also resulted in the camera monitoring server incorrectly reporting some cameras as being offline.
Please be assured that no data was lost.
No actual cameras were affected nor did this affect the camera event uploads.
This period of lag lasted for 6 minutes and the website and camera monitoring are now both back to normal.
